Management Team

  1. Brad Gabel - CEO and Executive Director

    Mr. Gabel brings significant experience to the Company in acquisition and divesture transactions – a primary focus for Canamax Energy Ltd. as the company continues to evaluate further acquisitions of junior oil and gas companies in western Canada. He also brings significant experience in dealing with the capital markets and managing corporate growth.

    Mr. Gabel, also a director of Canamax, has successfully started, grown and sold multiple public companies in the oilfield sector over the past 18 years. Most recently, he was President of Pure Energy Services Ltd from June, 2009 until its acquisition in October 2012 by Houston-based FMC Technologies Ltd for CDN $300 million. Mr. Gabel has assisted with the transition effort until now. Prior to Pure, Mr. Gabel was the President and CEO of Canadian Sub-Surface Energy Services which he co-founded in 1996. Canadian Sub-Surface went public in 2006 and was subsequently acquired by Pure in 2009.

  2. Jeremy Krukowski - President & COO

    Mr. Krukowski is a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in the oil patch. Since May 2013, he was the Vice President, Operations of the Company and has been instrumental in the acquisitions and drilling success to date. Previously, he was a founder and Vice President, Operations of Rimfire Energy Inc. from 2010 through 2013; a company which has grown from zero production to 600 BOE/D. From 2007 to 2010, he was a founder and Vice President, Operations of Onyx (2006) Inc. which grew from zero to 600 BOE/D of production prior to its sale to Whitecap Resources Inc. From 2001 to 2007, he was a founder and Vice President, Operations of Onyx Oil and Gas Ltd. which grew from zero to 1,600 BOE/D at the time of its sale to Exoro Energy Inc.

  3. Chris Martin - CFO

    Mr. Martin has significant experience in acquisition and divestiture transactions. He has 23 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant and was most recently the Vice President, Finance and CFO for Pure Energy Services from 2009 until Pure was acquired by FMC in 2012, and remained with Pure through 2013 to assist with the transition. Prior to his work with Pure, he was Vice President, Finance and CFO of Canadian Sub- Surface from 2005 to 2009 and has previously held CFO positions with several companies, including Calvalley Petroleum Inc. and Jet Energy Corp. and Alternative Fuel Systems.

  4. Jeremy Yee - Vice President, Land

    Mr. Yee is the Vice President, Land at Canamax Energy Ltd. since 2014. Prior to Canamax Energy Ltd., he worked at Penn West Petroleum Ltd. and Chevron Canada Resources. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Queens University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (B.Comm) in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Calgary. He has been an active member of both the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administrator (CAPLA) since 2004.

  5. Bonnie Lamming - Vice President, Finance

    Ms. Lamming has been the Vice President, Finance of Canamax Energy Ltd. since June 2014, and has significant experience in the oil and gas industry.  Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Lamming was a Senior Manager at KPMG LLP with 12 years of experience in conducting auditing, accounting and taxation services for a wide variety of oil and gas clients of various sizes. Ms. Lamming’s clients during that time included Perpetual Energy Ltd., Rock Energy Ltd., Penn West Energy Ltd., Anadarko Canada,  Pure Energy Services, Mullen Group Ltd. to name a few. Ms. Lamming is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.

  6. Rob Klettl - Senior Geologist

    Mr. Klettl is a 27-year geologist with extensive experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. After working for several larger oil and gas companies from 1988-1995, Rob took on a senior role at Genesis Exploration from 1995 – 2001. In 2001, he then went on to be a founder of Tiger Energy which was built to 1,100 boe/d at time of sale in 2005, and was a founder of Ridgeback Exploration which was grown to 1,200 boe/d at time of sale in 2009. Mr. Klettl then joined Novus Energy in that company’s infancy and played an important role in growing that companies’ production to 5,000 boe/d in 2014 when it was sold to a multinational company. Rob joined Canamax in early 2015 as the company’s senior geologist and has been instrumental in evaluating Canamax’s core properties, including mapping future drilling locations.
